Released on February 17th, 2023; That... is my second solo album. With encouragement from modern industry pros, That... contains less than half the number of songs that were on my first effort. The industry has changed quite a bit since I first started in music. Today's listener has many distractions and little time to take in much of anything... 18 or 19 tracks at once is too much, overwhelming at best. The industry has moved away from the sprawling concept album and is back to a focus on individual songs. It suits me either way, so I've adopted a less ...
"The Nickel Song" written by Melanie Sofka, seemed perfect for poking election year fun at politics at large. You don't have to be on one side or the other to see what a circus it has become. A song about gambling on how we're all going to vote, contribute, play the game... but nobody is really trying to solve the problems either. Another tongue in cheek look at where this humans race is racing off to.Listen to "The Nickel Song"Since deciding that I do not want to make another full album until I make a live one, I have been ...
Originally released in 2015 as This..., the original release did not include six cover songs that the 2022 re-release does, making This... AGAIN? an 18 song tour de force of a debut solo album. The original first track "Killed By The Cure" features Wes Sutherland on blues harp, and is about Jimmy having survived many near death experiences. The sprawling recording began in 2013, After The Occupy Wall Street movement ended. Jimmy played an active part in the movement when they organized in Norfolk, VA. The original recording was trimmed to fit on vinyl, but after it wasn't released on ...

Despite the delay getting it to the streaming services, "& The Other" was released to the the distributor on June  7th, 2024 and was finally made available last week. It sums up a lifetime of observation of the Ecological state of planet Earth, It's politics and religion. I almost called the album "Opiate of the Masses", and I toyed with the idea of sub-titling it "Things We Believe". At any rate, it addresses my personal lack of Faith, in spite of my knowledge of many belief systems. I recently told a Christian believer friend of mine that if "Faith is the ...

In 2015, When I first released my first solo album "This...",  a friend of mine in his ordinarily cheeky way posted his condolences on FB when he went to i-Tunes and the biography associated with my music was for the Bluegrass musician from Fries, VA. "Sorry to hear of your untimely death in 1992..." He laughed. I must admit, I was not anxious to be associated with a bluegrass 'legend', living or dead at that time; and though my complaining for the various platforms to separate our online presences did not amount to anything, I did finally take the time to listen to ...

Thieving Dogz was originally named Hand Over Fist, before being informed that a Black Sabbath cover band (Hanover Fist) had made it all but impossible for any band to legally hold a similar name, and they were prepared to defend their trademark status. The first album was quickly pulled from the marketplace and with a new name (inspired by something said by my brother Richard Arnold) and a new logo, Thieving Dogz (1999-2005) was born.  Jon Sympson of Sioux Falls, South Dakota was producer of the first album, as well as guitar, vocals, guitar Synthesizer and shared songwriting duties. These works ...

The first recording I was on was as a boy of 7. My Mother and my two brothers, Terrie and Jerry DelMontier sang A' Capella Gospel from 1968 - 1972; and in June of 1970 we were recorded by sound engineer Phil Dowdy in the original sanctuary of Rock Church at 640 Kempsville Rd, Virginia Beach, VA, which is now a gymnasium for their school. It was titled "The Arnold Family Sings for The Lord Jesus Christ" and was about 40 mins in length. Re-released on its 25th anniversary, Currently it is out of print. A search is on by ...
